Noise Cabinet is a forward leaning concert series created for listeners with openness and curiosity.  Featuring several thoughtfully curated concerts, the series explores a wide spectrum of sound, from solo works and chamber music to free improvisations and electro-acoustic compositions.

Noise Cabinet is proud to partner with Capitol Modern: The Hawai’i State Art Museum in Honolulu, Hawaii and is curated by Clara Kim.

The name Noise Cabinet takes its inspiration from 16th-century curiosity cabinets.  The term originally referred to a room designated for collecting and showcasing rarities such as a shark’s tooth or a hawk’s claw, foreign plants or portraits.  Curiosity cabinets were reflections of their curators; as a result, it was less important that they were scientifically true than being marked with a sense of the curious, marvelous, and mystical.
