Hailed by The Wire as “a fine bassist … strong and confident,” Gahlord Dewald is a free jazz musician. His solo double bass album Coherent Light Enclosed Without was recorded at The Tank Center for Sonic Arts in Colorado and draws from Dewald’s signature sound world, described as “…moments in the starry night,” by anti music for anti fascists. Dewald has performed on Hawaiʻi Public Radio’s Classical Music Series, Lōʻihi Records’ Wayfind Festival, and Banff Music Centre’s MainStage Chamber Music Series. Living in the ahupuaʻa of Waikīkī, Dewald is also the founder of Experimental Futures Corporation, a Hawaiʻi-based non-profit that develops culture in the service of community resiliency.

Clara Kim is a creative who believes in fostering curiosity, empathy and expressive freedom through music. The art of listening to others - and of being heard - fuels her work as a collaborative violinist. A champion for the voices of our generation, Clara has commissioned and premiered countless works by established, emerging, and student composers alike. Her significant engagements include performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall, and Jordan Hall, and her work has generously been supported by organizations such as Chamber Music America, The Koussevitzky Foundation, and Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts. A recipient of the St. Botolph Club Foundation Artist Award and a first prize winner of the Cremona Solo Violin Competition, Clara is also a first prize winner at the MPrize Chamber Arts and Concert Artists Guild Competitions as a former member of the Argus Quartet.

LEILEHUA LANZILOTTI

Leilehua Lanzilotti is a Kanaka Maoli composer, multimedia artist, and curator whose works often explore dramatic expanses of color and timbre. World-building through multimedia installation works and nontraditional concert experiences/musical interventions, Lanzilotti activates imagination around new paths forward in language sovereignty, water sovereignty, land stewardship, and respect. Lanzilotti was honored to be a 2022 Pulitzer Prize Finalist in Music for with eyes the color of time (string orchestra), which the Pulitzer committee called, “a vibrant composition . . . that distinctly combines experimental string textures and episodes of melting lyricism.” Other prestigious honors Lanzilotti has received include recognition as a 2025 USA Fellow, a Creative Capital Award, and a Native Arts & Cultures Foundation’s SHIFT – Transformative Change and Indigenous Arts Award.
